Share:

About the Role

We are seeking a versatile QA Engineer to bridge the gap between our cutting-edge EEG hardware and our software ecosystem. In this role, you will be the gatekeeper of quality, ensuring that our biomedical devices, firmware, and user-facing applications function seamlessly together. You will collaborate closely with the Hardware and Software teams to design test strategies, debug complex integration issues, and validate performance from the circuit board level up to the application layer. This is a unique opportunity for an engineer who loves getting hands-on with electronics while applying rigorous software testing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Strategy
  • Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases that cover the full product lifecycle: Hardware, Firmware, and Software.

  • Define acceptance criteria for new hardware revisions and firmware updates.

Execution & Validation
  • Perform functional, regression, stress, and system integration testing on EEG headsets and supporting software.

  • Validate hardware performance (signal quality, battery life, connectivity) and firmware stability under various conditions.

  • Execute robust connectivity testing (Bluetooth/BLE, USB) to ensure reliable data transmission between devices and host applications.

Debugging & Automation
  • Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA), working closely with developers to drive issues to resolution.

  • Contribute to the development of automated testing frameworks (Python/scripting) to simulate hardware usage and automate regression tests.

  • Analyze test results to provide detailed quality reports and recommend design improvements for reliability and performance.

Requirements (Must-Have)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in QA/Testing with a focus on Hardware/Software Integration.

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Strong understanding of embedded systems, firmware logic, and hardware architecture.

    • Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (Python, C/C++, or similar) for test automation and data analysis.

    • Hands-on experience with hardware connectivity and communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Bluetooth Classic/BLE).

  • Hardware Skills: Familiarity with hardware debugging tools (Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Multimeters).

  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and strong English communication skills (written and spoken) for cross-team documentation.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
  • Domain Knowledge: Experience with EEG technology, biosignals, or medical/wearable devices.

  • Hardware Depth: Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and PCB layouts.

  • MCU Familiarity: Experience working with specific microcontroller architectures, such as Microchip dsPIC, Nordic nRF (BLE), or Qualcomm.

  • Methodology: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud-based testing environments, and Agile QA methodologies.
