If you’re using Professional devices (Epoc X, Flex) and looking to access raw EEG data in real-time through the Emotiv API, you’ll need to purchase a Developer API license. This license provides the necessary permissions and tools to integrate Emotiv’s EEG data into your custom applications. Once you’ve purchased the Developer API license, you’ll receive an API license key—a critical credential required to authenticate your access and enable real-time data streaming from your Emotiv device.

Please note:

If you attempt to access EEG data without a valid API license, the system will return an “Invalid License Key” error. This is because raw EEG access is restricted to licensed developers to ensure compliance with Emotiv’s data usage policies. Please contact support for further assistance in acquiring the right license for your development.
