Our brain controls what we think, feel, and do, but scientists have a limited capability to watch it at work outside the lab. National Geographic Emerging Explorer Tan Le hopes to change that while, in the process, fighting neurological disorders, enhancing learning, and even helping the disabled move things in the physical world with the power of the mind

Emotiv, het bedrijf dat Le mede heeft opgericht, produceert draagbare EEG-hoofdsets (elektro-encefalogram) met hoge resolutie voor hersenscans, waarvan Le hoopt dat ze nieuwe vensters zullen openen op de complexe werking van ons brein. Op 1 augustus onthulde Emotiv Emotiv Insight, een snellere, draadloze hersenscanner van de volgende generatie die realtimegegevens verzamelt over de gedachten en gevoelens van de drager en deze rechtstreeks levert aan een computer, telefoon of ander apparaat via Android-, iOS-, OSX-, Linux- en Windows-platforms.
