EMOTIV launches interdisciplinary STEAM program with Varkey Foundation at 2019’s Global Education and Skills Forum (GESF) to give access to Neurotech-Ed solution.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Sunday 24 March 2019 : EMOTIV, the global leader in personalized neuroinformatics, will roll out the world’s first Neurotech-Ed program with the support of the Varkey Foundation in Fall 2019. EMOTIV’s Neurotech-Ed solutions are tailored for ages 10-18 and will provide lesson plans to complement curriculum across all disciplines of STEAM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). Together, EMOTIV and the Varkey Foundation will expand access and participation for students globally to inspire the next generation of technology innovators.
Leveraging its portable and scalable brain sensing hardware technology and Cortex APIs (Application Programming Interface), students will have hands on project-based learning opportunities to apply coding skills to build Brain Computer Interface (BCI) applications, connect bioscience concepts to their own quantifiable data, and create music and art with technology. EMOTIV will continue to partner with groups around the world to develop lesson plans that will support and embolden teachers to adopt the curriculum confidently.
“We have a responsibility to provide access to cutting edge technology that will help prepare our future generations for the changing landscape of tomorrow’s workforce and create dynamic new ways of learning.” says Prof. Olivier Oullier, President at EMOTIV. “As an added feature, our unique machine learning algorithms empower individuals to track cognitive performance, which will open up new possibilities for personalizing learning and create a deeper awareness of how the learning process has and will continue to shift.”
“Partnering with EMOTIV confirms our commitment to be continually seeking what’s new and at the edge of innovation for our teachers and students, and affirms our work as leaders in this transformative era of education in the 4th Industrial Revolution.” says Vikas Pota, Board Chairman of the Varkey Foundation, which runs GESF.
EMOTIV will be piloting their Neurotech-Ed programs with schools in Europe, Asia, and the U.S.A in Fall 2019 with plans to roll out a global initiative in 2020.
