Based on the latest developments in neuro-technology, Emotiv has developed a revolutionary new personal interface for human computer interaction.  The Emotiv EPOC is a high resolution, neuro-signal acquisition and processing wireless neuroheadset.  It uses a set of sensors to tune into electric signals produced by the brain to detect player thoughts, feelings and expressions and connects wirelessly to most PCs.

Please note: If you or any of your 3rd party applications require access to Raw EEG, you will need to purchase the Emotiv EEG Neuroheadset.

EmoKey links the Emotiv technology to your applications by easily converting detected events into any combination of keystrokes. EmoKey is a nonintrusive, lightweight, background process that runs behind your existing applications or games. EmoKey lets you create profiles that define how detections are mapped to keystroke combinations. Your profiles can then be saved and shared so you can use profiles that your friends have created for your favorite games and software. EmoKey profiles can be as simple as linking the Expressiv smile detection to characters such as ":)", so that chat applications instantly know when you smile. Or they can be as complex as linking a "lift" command to a sequence of keystrokes that trigger a levitation spell in a game. When combined, the Emotiv EPOC neuroheadset and Emokey make your inputs more simple, personal, natural, and direct. There's no need for keystroke combinations, simply smile or focus on a command and your applications respond. Use EmoKey to interact with your digital applications like instant messaging and virtual environments, or experience your current PC games in a completely new way.

EEG neuroheadset

These additional headsets may only be purchased for use with the Education Edition or Enterprise Plus Edition SDKs if used for testing purposes during development.  SDK and serial keys are not provided with these headsets.

If you do not have a pre-existing Education or Enterprise Plus Edition SDK license, you will need to do so before you can purchase these EEG neuroheadsets.  Alternatively, you can purchase an individual Research Edition SDK license.

The Emotiv SDK Developer Edition is a single user license for indepedent developers (individuals, companies or incorporated entities that had a turnover less than US$100,000 in their last fiscal year) who are creating free and/or commercial applications for the Emotiv EPOC that will be distributed exclusively through our online application store. The license is registered to the individual and is not transferable. The Emotiv SDK includes an Emotiv EPOC neuroheadset:  a high resolution, neuro-signal acquisition and processing wireless neuroheadset and our proprietary software toolkit that exposes our APIs and detection libraries: Affectiv, Expressiv and Cognitiv.

The Research Edition SDK is a single user license for independent researchers (individuals, companies or incorporated entities that had a turnover less than US$100,000 in their last fiscal year), wishing to conduct EEG research leveraging the Emotiv EEG neuroheadset technology.  The license is registered to the individual and is not transferable. The resulting applications, whether free or commercial will be distributed exclusively through our online application store. The Research Edition SDK includes an Emotiv EEG neuroheadset: a 14 channel (plus CMS/DRL references, P3/P4 locations) high resolution, neuro-signal acquisition and processing wireless neuroheadset.  Channel names based on the International 10-20 locations are: AF3, F7, F3, FC5, T7, P7, O1, O2, P8, T8, FC6, F4, F8, AF4.  TestBench™ software included in the Research Edition SDK provides: Real-time display of the Emotiv headset data stream, including EEG, contact quality, FFT, gyro, wireless packet acquisition/loss display, marker events, headset battery level. Record and replay files in binary EEGLAB format1. Command line file converter included to produce .csv format. It provides a natural enhancement to game interaction by allowing game characters to come to life. When a player smiles, their avatar can mimic the expression even before they are aware of their own feelings. Artificial intelligence can now respond to players naturally, in ways only humans have been able to until now.  Affectiv™ Suite  The Affectiv suite monitors player emotional states in real-time.
