Emotiv EPOC Brain Activity Map

This application displays a real-time map of your mental activity in four significant brainwave frequency bands. Adjustable gain allows you to see detailed information and relative strengths between different brain regions. Adjustable buffer size allows you to see instant responses or average activity over longer periods.

Delta (0.5-4Hz)
- indicating deep sleep, restfulness, and conversely excitement or agitation when delta waves are suppressed

Theta (4-8Hz) - indicating deep meditative states, daydreaming and automatic tasks

Alpha (8-15Hz) - indicating relaxed alertness, restful and meditative states

Beta (15-30Hz) - indicating wakefulness, alertness, mental engagement and conscious processing of information.

Compatible with the Emotiv EPOC consumer headset and SDK developer and research headsets.

I have seen somereviews stating that it does not work for mac. I want to be sure that it does before I buy it. I ask again. Is this app suitable for MAC OS Lion 10.4.7?

I purchased the MAC version, but the app is not working. It is not mapping anything at all. All it shows is the window with the 4 head maps and the black dots indicating the position of the sensors. I checked through the Emotiv EPOC control panel, and the sensors are connected fine (indicating all green). How do I make it work?

We tried it. Apple got there before us though. (a) you might need to use a powered hub to get the port going, but (b) iPad does not recognise the full range of HID profiles available on desktop machines. I hate to say it, but this seems to be a business decision by Apple to force hardware manufacturers to add special authorisation chips so Apple can share in peripheral sales even for end users who never connect to Apple products. Hmmm...

There is a small usb adapter of the iPad to connect external cameras and transfer photos sans pc or mac. Maybe this can be used?
