Consumer Headset Announcement

EPOC Black   EPOC White

The Emotiv EPOC™ Neuroheadset is the first ever high-fidelity neuro-system at a consumer price point. Following a major breakthrough in brain research at Emotiv’s lab, involving real-time classification of human thoughts, expressions and emotions, Emotiv has created a wearable consumer device that works across the population without the hassle of traditional bio-signal acquisition systems. The EPOC neuroheadset allows detailed spatial and temporal resolution of brainwaves to be observed, that is unmatched by any consumer product offering.

With its sleek design, the neuroheadset is complemented by a game and access to a next generation online portal, bringing to users never-before-possible interaction and experience. The Emotiv EPOC neuroheadset will give users a sensational experience out-of-the-box.

The Emotiv EPOC neuroheadset will be available for purchase for $299 from the Emotiv website and from select retail stores in late 2008, in time for the holidays. The exact release date will be announced later this year.

EmoKey Software - Use the Emotiv EPOC with your existing software
In our efforts to enabled our users, Emotiv has developed the EmoKey software application in conjunction with the Emotiv EPOC. EmoKey allows you to associate any of the Emotiv EPOC detections with keystrokes on your PC. EmoKey enables all of your existing PC software to be Emotiv EPOC compatible right out of the box! In practice, this means that you can link a “smile” detection to type the “smiley emoticon” in your chat application or link a thought, such as “rotate clockwise” to a series of keystrokes such as “a-w-d-s-a-w-d-s” to rotate your magic wand!

The expansion possibilities offered by EmoKey are endless, limited only by your creativity!

EmoKey is currently included with the Emotiv SDKLite download, so you can start writing scripts today! Emotiv wants to know how you would use EmoKey? Send your thoughts and EmoKey scripts to: NewsFlashEditor@emotiv.com
